Wendell Rodricks is a fashion designer of international acclaim and a fierce activist for social causes. In his motivational talks, he has spoken not only about the creative inspirations and management strategies that corporates can use to achieve success, but also about the need to create a social impact as a collaborative community.

Through his Visionnaire collection, Wendell channelled his vision into helping visually challenged people read Braille on clothes. He has designed various clothing collections for the differently abled, since.

As the Chairman of Green Goa Works, he has worked with the public, civic infrastructure, industry, and government, to offer innovative solutions for Goa’s environment and cleanliness problems. He has been an active philanthropist for years, and once donated his entire fashion collection and its proceeds to Kasturba Gandhi Trust.

Wendell has made more than a mark on the fashion industry. His first collection earned him the title ‘Guru of Minimalism’ and his next collection pioneered the concept of ‘resort wear’ and eco-friendly garments in India. His fashion gained international attention when he became the first Indian designer to be invited to the world’s largest garment fair in IGEDO, Germany.

Wendell has been instrumental in planning and shaping the Lakme India Fashion Week. His books, Moda Goa – History and Style, and The Green Room, have tackled the diverse topics of culture and fashion, and have received rave reviews for their unique worldview. Wendell was awarded the fourth highest civilian order, the Padma Shri, in the year 2014.
