With the vision of bringing women back into the workforce, Sairee Chahal founded SHEROES, which has today become India’s largest online community for women, offering support, resources, opportunities and interactions for women of all spheres. She helps organisations build gender parity and challenges existing ideas around women’s aspirations, and identities, through her thought-provoking talks.
Claiming a strong digital presence with the website Sheroes.com and the SHEROES app, the world’s fastest evolving women-only social network has benefited over a million women through a pool of content resources, conversation platforms, career opportunities, and much more. Sairee, driven with a passion for women’s progress and the future of work, now aims to put 100 million women on the growth map through this socially transformative product, in the next five years.
Sairee’s professional journey began while she was still in college, where she co-founded her first start-up, Newslink, the world’s first newspaper for mariners. She went on to work at corporates like Heidrick and Struggles and CII. She is also the convener of the SHEROES Summit – India’s largest women’s forum, which is nurturing important conversations around women’s progress and the future of work. A tech entrepreneur at heart, Sairee is regularly invited to engage with various stakeholders in important gender and entrepreneurship conversations around the world.
With an M. Phil from JNU, a PGDBM from IMT Ghaziabad, and now as an Aspen Leadership Fellow, her journey of learning, redefining and disrupting the status quo for women, continues.
