Alok is a former Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer who retired as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh – the executive head of the state – in 2016. An established thought leader and public speaker, his sessions cover a wide range of topics including talks on management, leadership, governance, public policy and more.
Alok has extensive experience of managing and administrating across industries and sectors including education, economics, finance, agriculture, industrial governance, and more.
Retired after a distinguished service of about 38 years, Alok dedicated his professional expertise to administer the development initiatives for the State of Uttar Pradesh. He has held several prominent positions not just for the UP state government, but also at the central government including the role of Joint Secretary Defense (Govt. of India).
He has also authored two books and continues to write articles for leading national publications such as Times of India, Economic Times, Business Standard, HT and more. He is currently serving on the board of directors for Bennett Coleman University.
