Harsh leads Marico Limited as its chairman and managing director. Over the last 3 decades, he has transformed the traditional commodity driven business model of Marico into a leading consumer products and services company. Grounded on his rich experience in the business world and passion for innovation, he likes to speak about the innovative drive in India and its applicability in business.
Harsh founded the Marico Innovation Foundation in 2003, which has been a catalyst in fueling innovation in India. In addition, he also mentors a group of young and upcoming entrepreneurs, in association with TiE – The Indus Entrepreneurs – a part of TiE’s Mentor Programme.
Under his leadership, Marico has achieved several recognitions including the 2009 NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award for Best Business Leadership in the FMCG (Personal Hygiene) category and the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Manufacturing category. Harsh has himself won the 2009 India Talent Management Award at the CNBC TV18 India Business Leader Awards.
Harsh is also the president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
