Arun graduated from IIM-Calcutta and joined the automobile industry when it was at a nascent stage in India. Over the last three decades he has been a part of the growth story of the industry, having worked with Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and Nissan India. His talks shed light on the Indian auto industry – from its evolution to future trends – as well as topics such as rural marketing and leadership challenges.
Arun’s last assignment was as MD in Nissan India. His career in sales and marketing has taken him across the length and breadth of India, working across the spectrum of brand building, strategic marketing, retail network expansion and development, training, rural marketing, customer-centric initiatives and formulating group-level strategies. He has successfully led many new product launches in the auto industry.
Arun served as an Executive Council member of SIAM, the apex body of the Auto Industry and was the Chairman of Auto Expo 2018 held in Delhi. He has attended Executive Management programs in Kellogs School of Management, Chicago and Harvard Business School, Boston.
A sought-after keynote speaker at management forums such as FADA, ETAuto, National HRD Forum, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). He is known for his expertise and knowledge of the auto industry. He is a visiting faculty at prominent business schools such as IIM-Kolkata, MDI Gurgaon and IMI Delhi. Arun has partaken in several panel discussions for CNBC, CNBC Awaaz, ET Now, NDTV, ZEE News and AajTak on topics related to business and industry.
