Colonel Lalit Rai is the celebrated military hero who led the Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army to success in Operation Vijay, at the Kargil war of 1999. After years of service to the country, he retired in 2007 and has since been associated with corporates and multinationals as a motivational and management speaker.
His sessions become awe-inspiring for the audience instantly when he shares anecdotes from the battleground and correlates them with leadership insights. Under his command, his battalion captured as many as 11 formidable enemy positions even with ferocious conditions like formidable heights of over 18000 feet and freezing temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius and below.
Having led his battalion to success, despite suffering from grave bullet and splinter injuries on his legs and bleeding profusely, Colonel Rai was awarded the prestigious Vir Chakra by the President of India. He was also felicitated by the Prime Minister for exemplary and inspirational leadership and has been honoured with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation for devotion to duty and distinguished service.
