Deepak Maheshwari is a consultant with over two decades of experience in leading the public policy functions across Symantec, MasterCard, Microsoft and Sify with responsibilities spanning India, ASEAN and China. A thought leader and an oft-invited speaker, his views have been widely published and cited.
Deepak has a keen interest in the interplay of policy, innovation, and socio-economic development. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) and is also engaged with several think tanks, namely Centre For The Digital Future (CDF), Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) , Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS International) and Software Freedom Law Centre, India (sflc.in).
A strong believer in the transformative power of public private partnerships, he co-founded National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and the ITU-APT Foundation of India. He has served as Global Chair of the IEEE Internet Initiative, Secretary of the ISP Association of India and as a board member of the IIM Ahmedabad-Idea Telecom Center of Excellence.
A graduate in engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, he also has a degree in law.
