Juan Verde is an internationally recognized strategist, advisor, and thought leader, specializing in sustainable economic development, strategic investment, and forging global partnerships that drive growth and innovation. With decades of experience bridging the public and private sectors, Juan empowers organisations and governments to navigate complex economic landscapes while advancing socially responsible and sustainable practices.

Juan works at the forefront of the global shift toward sustainable business. He advises companies and governments on transforming climate responsibility into strategic opportunity, aligning profitability with environmental impact. In the private sector, he serves as Vice Chairman of Volcan Compañía Minera and has advised multinational organizations including Google, Cisco, SAS, American Express, and Banco Santander Investments US. He is the founder and president of Alamo Solutions LLC and serves on several influential boards, including the American Sustainable Business Council, HISPASAT, and the Airbus Foundation Board of Advisors. Juan co-founded the Spain and Argentina branches of The Climate Reality Project and has participated in UN Climate Conferences such as COP25 and COP26. He currently presides over the Advanced Leadership Foundation, mentoring future global leaders.

With deep expertise in international trade and global economic policy, Juan provides insights into evolving global markets, supply chains, and cross-border opportunities. Nominated by President Joe Biden to the President’s Export Council, he advised the White House on trade, market access, and international expansion for American companies. Previously, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Department of Commerce under President Barack Obama, helping strengthen economic relations across 52 countries.

Juan holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Boston University. Beyond his professional pursuits, Juan is an avid marathon runner, horseback rider, and hiker.
