An ICT industry veteran, Manoj has managed and led businesses to achieve pole position, across Technology & Services, over the last 40 years. He is credited with being the Pioneer of the Internet Revolution in India. Under his leadership, India witnessed the birth and creation of over 100,000 Networking Professionals. Manoj was recognised as a leading MSME Influencer by SME Street.
In his career of several decades, Manoj has worked extensively with both Indian and global majors. He started his career with the Startups of yesteryears – HCL and Wipro with whom he worked for 15 years before shifting gears to work with Global Product Technology Firms for the next two decades. These included Scientific Atlanta, Cisco Systems ( as their President for the India & SAARC Region) and EMC (first as their President for India & SAARC and then Regional President (Global Accounts) – Asia Pacific/Japan).
Manoj took these businesses to leadership positions within the respective regions. He pioneered the establishment of Cisco and EMC’s Global Development Centers in India through a Multi-Billion Dollar commitment. These were among the earliest such Engineering Centers to be established in India.
Thereafter, Manoj led the Enterprise Business (Satyam acquisition) of Tech Mahindra, for six years, as its Global President, where he led business units across 70 Global Markets, driving transformative success by helping customers leverage Disruptive technologies. Currently, as the President of Group Public Affairs and Member of the Group Executive Board at Mahindra Group, he leads Public Policy and Advocacy across the federation of 150 firms, cutting across all major sectors of the Economy.
Manoj works closely with several Industry bodies and various Boards. He was the past Vice Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India, Chairman of the Storage Network Industry Association, and is currently a Member of the National Executive Committee of FICCI and leads their South Asia Council in addition to being on the Board of the South Asia Regional Council (A SAARC Initiative) and is a Patron Member of ASSOCHAM.
He currently holds Board positions with Mahindra Defense Systems Limited, Agriculture Skill Council of India (A Section 8 Firm), Amity University (India’s #1 ranked Private University), in addition to being on the Group Executive Board of the $20B Mahindra Group. He is also on the Academic Council and Innovation Council of TERI University.
Manoj has been bestowed with several industry accolades. He has been adjudged as the Best IT Man of the Year and has also been recognized as one of the top ten people to have shaped the last decade of the Indian IT industry by DataQuest.
