Raman is a prolific Speaker, a Mentor-cum-Coach to senior Corporate executives, a Professor, a Business Consultant, an Independent Director, and a trusted Family Business Adviser. He is also a Fellow at the prestigious Institute of Coaching, Harvard.
He is the Founder and CEO of STEP Transformations, which focuses on transforming businesses and their leadership. He also works with Family Business Owners to help them professionalize and scale up in business as well as in their personal lives.
Raman has been a quintessentially globe-trotting person in terms of his assignments, exposure and range of interests at work. His ‘unique unfair advantage’ of a 360-degree business acumen got built by his penchant to constantly disrupt himself and serve for significant periods of time as the CFO, CHRO, CMO, and in positions such as CEO and ‘Country Head & President’.
In the process, not only did Raman get a deep appreciation of all major business functions but also an excellent understanding of multiple cultures and languages at work. He has been typically in high technology work environments, creating change and helping customers cope with change.
After receiving his B Com Hons from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and an MBA from the renowned IIM, Ahmedabad, Raman served with leading groups such as TATAs and Murugappas, as well as family businesses and start-ups. His last assignment was as Country Head and President – India of an MNC Gestamp, a $10 bn dollar European Auto Component giant. He has served on several Tata group Boards as well as the Executive Committee of ACMA, the automotive component industry body.
Raman has been a very regular speaker at corporate events, industry bodies and at Rotary events. He is a Visiting Faculty at the well-known Flame University at Pune.
In June 2022, he has launched a six-month program called 12 MasterClasses for Business Owners and Leaders [ like a mini-MBA ] for experienced people to brush up their skills in an ever-changing world. This program has achieved phenomenal success and is now going into Season Two. Raman takes some of the classes in this program viz on Leadership and Personal Mastery, Understanding and Scaling up the Business and Customer Centricity.
His articles have appeared in many well-known publications, and he is on the verge of completing his first book [on Pune]. Raman’s strength lies in understanding the audience’s expectations and mood and then crafting and delivering power-packed presentations with wit, fun and clear deliverables.
