Born to a landless farmer in a small village in South India, today Dr. Velumani owns and operates Thyrocare – an industry leader, a brand worth Rs. 3000 crores and the world’s largest thyroid testing laboratory. Through his unique perspective, he has time and again, transformed intimidating problems into opportunities. His anecdotes and leadership mantras from his entrepreneurial journey prove that “focus gives success”.
After acquiring his PhD in Thyroid Chemistry and working for 14 years as a research scientist and teacher in BARC, Dr. Velumani ventured out on his own. This eventually led to the establishment of Thryocare. He is also the Managing Director of Nuclear Healthcare Limited which is a Radiology vertical. His focus areas are Thyroid Biochemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry and Nuclear Medicine.
